If you are into Twitter, you need to find people to follow, right?  Sometimes that may seem easier said than done. 

But one of the easiest ways I know of, to find people to follow is to use a Twitter Directory.  All you do when using a Twitter Directory is add Your Twitter Account In Twitter Directories.

You can increase your chances of getting targeted followers by adding your Twitter account in the appropriate categories of Twitter directories.

Today I’m going to share with you a Twitter money making method which doesn’t even require that you have any Twitter followers.  And this is really great because this method works in virtually any niche I can think of – not just the ‘make money’ niche or the ‘internet marketing’ niche or the guru niche, and so on.

This method doesn’t use the traditional format where you build a huge list of followers, and then blast some offer out to them.  Sometimes that method works, but most of the time it doesn’t because too many people end up annoying their followers with pitches.

Remember, followers are followers just for fun…. not to be spammed. So instead of using the old method… use this ’search and respond’ method instead. 

Here’s how it goes…

First go to search.twitter.com

Next, click the ‘Advanced Search’ option right there on the search box at the bottom right.

Now, let’s just say for example, you are an affiliate for products in the World of Warcraft niche. And if are aren’t in this niche but are interested in getting paid using this particular Twitter money method, just go and sign up at Clickbank (it’s free) and become an affiliate for one of the many World of Warcraft related products there. Right now, they are really hot.

OK, So, in the search box, you will type in the following words: “best world of warcraft?” Be sure to include the word best at the beginning and end with a question mark. What will come up is all the recent conversations where people are asking questions on the topic of  best world of warcraft.

If you craft your response in the right way, you can share a solution along with an affiliate link that they are happy to get and click on.  And because they are already pre-qualified for this topic, the chances of you earning some money using this method are really high.

When I started using Twitter and as my follower list grew, I immediately was bombarded with hundreds of direct messages (DM), you know, Twitter email.  But unlike my regular email, I couldn’t just ‘check all’ and then hit ‘delete’ in the Twitter email.  Nope.  Instead I had to go through the painstaking process of deleting each and every single message individually.  Monotenous and very time consuming.  Who in the world has time for that?  What in the world was Twitter thinking when they came up with that dumb Twitter email requirement!  No wonder their logo is a bird.  Emptying my Twitter Email account like that IS for the birds!

So I immediately started looking for a solution.  First I found something called DM Whacker.  And I liked it for a couple of days until my Firefox browser did one of their automatic updates, and rendered the thing worthless.

Then I discovered that Tweetlater has a cool feature that takes care of the process for me.  Tweetlater actually does a whole bunch of really cool things… but I must warn you… most automated Twitter functions out there online can eventually get you banned for spam on Twitter.  So use those at your own risk.  But the Tweetlater DM purge feature is a fantastic time saver and I highly recommend you use Tweetlater if for nothing else, use it for that alone!  This slick little tool allows me to delete all of my direct messages with just one click.  Now that’s what I’m talking about!

Ok, I always knew that Twitter links are all ‘NoFollow’ and so they are useless for link building.   So here’s how to use Twitter for SEO.

Just recently I was searching a keyword phrase I was using for search engine optimizeation to earn Google first page positioning, and I was stunned to find that both my Twitter account and my tweets were on the front page of Google for the keywords I was targeting!

I giving you a list of my favorite weird Twitter Tips For Business secrect success tips.  These never let me down.  These are the exact tactics I used to quickly build my Twitter follower list. And, man! My followers are loyal!  So here you go…

1.  Tweet Nonsense.  As crazy as it sounds, people are on Twitter to decompress and chill out.  And that’s a trait that you can eventually take to the bank.  So go ahead…. hit their funny bone.  You will get noticed!

2.  Be Naked!  Ok, not really, but at least be vulnerable.  Share your hopes, fears and dreams.  Do that, and you’ll connect with people deep down in their level of trust, so down the road, they will buy what you sell.

3.  Tick ‘Em Off.  Bet you didn’t know that it is actually a great thing that you can’t please everybody all of the time.  So, since that’s the case… go ahead and make ‘em mad!  Give them your opinion.  People who adore you will become more loyal followers.  Remember, poloarization fosters sales.

4.  Feed The Cool.  Like I’ve already people aren’t on Twitter to be sold… so give them what they want…. give them time wasting youtube videos, breaking news, silly jokes.  Give them what they want and they’ll go green when you want them to buy from you.

5.  Be Sexy.  Be suave and full of sex appeal.  Offer compliments, full of jokes and as fun as you are in real life.  You’ll get a lot of mileage from this as it translates to your bottom line.

6.  Ask!  Ask your followers to retweet.  If you don’t ask, you won’t get it.  Ask and you shall receive.

7.  Be Positive.  People are addicted to the good, so let them be addicted to you, too.  Feed them quotes on positive thinking.  People will think you are a deep thinking and worth following.

8.  Be The Banner!  Stand up for a cause and you’ll foster solidarity with you.

Twitter is one of the fastest growing social networks on the web.  It is fun and easy to use.  And it is also a very powerful marketing tool.  Having said that, keep in mind that people do not join Twitter just to be blasted with sales pitch after sales pitch. The next thing you need to understand is that Twitter is a social network.  It’s like a big party, and people are there to connect with other people on a more personal and fun level.  So, knowing that, the idea is to be personal…. not impersonal.  Impersonal messages just get deleted, and blocked.  Twitter users want to connect with people on a very personal level, like knowing what you are having for dinner, or how much you like a particular song.  

So tip #2:  be personal!

Tip #3 is easy…. Re-Tweet!  Not only will you gain points and recognition from the people you retweet, but you’ll build your follower list, and keep your posts and name on the time line longer.  It’s easy to re-tweet, because you don’t even need to come up with your own tweet. 

Tip #4: Use your own photo.  It doesn’t matter if you are using Twitter for personal use or for business, people want to see what you look like, so don’t use the default Twitter photo.  Use a nice happy photo of yourself instead.  Make sure you include a link to your website so people can go there and check it out.  People want to know what you are before they feel they can trust you and follow your tweets.

Tip #5:  Be nice.  If someone tweets about being sick or something more serious, go and @reply them to get well or let them know you are thinking of them.  Offer your help. 

Tip #6:  Follow people in the same market and business as you.  Follow popular people.

Tip 7:  Use Twitter to build and develop relationships.  You do this by being fun and entertaining.  The best way to be appreciated and liked is to follow and be followed.
